Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Nov 6: The road between Kalsanka junction to Ambagilu has turned into a dangerous stretch now. Because of potholes dotting the road and haphazard parking of vehicles, this road has become nightmarish for road users.

This two-lane road has been witnessing accidents regularly. Parking on the roadside and curves have turned this road into an accident zone. This is a municipal road between Kalsanka and Ambagilu, and with the increase in the movement of vehicles here, the number of accidents has been on the rise. In once such incident, after an auto-rickshaw collided with a parked car a week ago, the driver of the auto suffered serious injuries and lost his life.

On both the sides of the road, the city has been growing fast. As residential and commercial complexes are coming up, people have made it a habit to park their cars on the road and go away for conducting business. Many accidents have taken place when moving vehicles brush against opened car doors. The people complain that because of haste in completing Gundibail underground drainage work, the Gundibail-Doddanagudde road has turned dangerous. People say that Doddanagudde road is also full of damaged stretches and potholes.

Traffic police sub-inspector Abdul Khader feels that there is no problem on this road as vehicular traffic is a less. He said action will be taken if it comes to their notice that traffic snarls are repeatedly occuring.
