Mangalore: Halappa Incident Reflects State Govt's Shamelessness - Rai

Mangalore, May 4: The Halappa incident has embarassed the citizens of the state and reflects the government's shamelessness, said Bantwal MLA B Ramanath rai.
He was speaking at the protest organized by the district Congress against Halappa issue, which is making a nationwide news, in front of the deputy commissioner's office here on Tuesday May 4. Rai said that the women will face hardships if the present government in the state continued. He further demanded Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa's resignation for shielding a tainted man.
Congress leader Kallige Taranath Shetty said that issues linked with women has been black spot in the BJP administration. Earlier, it was excise minister Renukacharya, who was reinducted into cabinet after being removed once for his link with a woman. It was befitting if the CM had resigned before reinducting Renukacharya into cabinet. In Halappa's case too CM will follow suit, he aleged.
District Congress Committee vice-president Ivan D'Souza, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde and Youth Congress president Arun Coelho among others were present.
