Mangaluru, Nov 5: Though the road development work from Mudipu to Muloor started two years ago, the pace of work is progressing at snail's pace because of which the commuters who access this road have nightmarish experience while driving on it.
KIDB had started road widening work at Muloor area of Ira village near Mudipu. In order to develop the road, the earlier asphalt was removed and road was widened. Later, for several months, the work stopped due to which the road became slimy and vehicles had a tough time commuting on this stretch. It was a common sight to see many vehicles getting stuck on the road itself.
Later, KIDB, which got alerted put gravel and concrete to the road and started the roadwork that was stalled. Now the work is stopped again. Due to this commuters going to Ira, Manchi and BC Road are facing difficulties. In addition, many accidents have also taken place on this stretch of road.
Due to the slow pace of roadwork, people of this area are facing problems. Two-wheeler riders have to be very careful on this road as there is chance of gravel hitting them when heavy vehicles either pass them or come from the opposite direction. This is extremely dangerous and may even turn fatal. The locals urge that the administration should wake up and complete the road work as soon as possible.
