Mangaluru: Surendra Bantwal murder case - Police arrest two more accused

Mangaluru, Nov 3: Special teams formed by the Dakshina Kannada police under initiative of superintendent of police B M Lakshmi Prasad have nabbed two more accused in connection with murder case of Tulu film actor Surendra Bantwal, who was found dead in his flat at BC Road on October 20.

The arrested accused are Pratheek Kotian from Laila village Beltangady and Jayesh alias Sachhu.

According to police sources, a team lead by Bantwal town police inspector T D Nagaraj produced accused before the court on Tuesday November 3. Both accused were remanded to judicial custody by the court.

According to police, in further inquiry, it has come to light that, accused Pratheek has received Rs 2,50,000 from the accused Sathish and Girish promising to provide shelter, vehicle arrangement and financial support, after the execution of the crime and helped the accused to go absconding. Another accused Sacchu alias Jayesh resident of Konchadi, as per the direction of rowdy sheeter Akash Bhavan Sharan had collected cash from another accused to Pradeep alias Pappu and helped in the execution of the crime.

Already special teams by SP, have arrested nine accused, including Satish Kulal, Girish Kinnigoli, Akash Bhavav Sharan, Venkatesh Poojary, Pradeep, Sharif, Divyaraj, Rajesh and Anil Pumpwell, and produced them in the court.

It is said that recently Pratheek Kotian was arrested in connection with illegal stone quarrying at Odikar in Navoor village in the Beltangady taluk.
