Mangaluru, Nov 1: A mega sea food park under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada scheme, at a cost of Rs 100 crore, will be built in the district soon. This information was shared by Dakshina Kannada (DK) district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary.
Poojary was speaking after hoisting the flag at Nehru Maidan in the city on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava. He further said, "The compensation amount that was being given by Forest, Environment and biology department, for death by wild animals is increased from Rs five lac to Rs 7.5 lac.
"During Covid lockdown seven lac people were fed. At present nine laboratories, including eight medical colleges, are providing Covid RTPCR testing facility. In the district of Dakshina Kannada 73 hospitals are providing free treatment for coronavirus patients under the Ayushman Bharath Arogya Karanataka Yojane.
"For those who are interested in learning Kannada, E Kannada study academy is established and separate internet website is made ready. The ministerial cabinet has given the go ahead for implementation of the new industrial policy of commerce and industries department. There is an expectation of Rs five crore capital investment and employment generation for 20 lac people,” he said.
As many as 27 people who have done commendable achievement in various fields and 11 organizations were awarded district level Rajyotsava award.
