Mangalru, Oct 25: The brain behind the development of Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, former union minister B Janardhana Poojary on Saturday, October 24 inaugurated the Mangaluru Dasara festivities by lighting the lamp at the temple premises.
Giving his Dasara message, Poojary said, "From many years, Mangaluru Dasara is being celebrated in a grand manner due to the blessings of Lord Gokarnanatha. We all need his blessings.
"The state government has formed rules to control the spread of coronavirus pandemic. We must cooperate with the administration. Arrangments have ben done on the part of the temple management also to celebrate Mangaluru Dasara in a grand manner within the limits of the Covid-19 rules specified by the government," said Poojary.
The administrative committee of the temple has decided to take a token procession of the portrait of Brahmashree Narayana Guru on Monday, October 26, the day of Dasara, instead of the usual tableau and other troupes.
President of the temple committee H S Sairam, secretary B Madhava Suvarna, treasurer Padmaraj R, Shekhar Poojary, K Maheshchandra, members of development committee Devendra Poojary, Harikrishna Bantwal, Dr B G Suvarna, former minister Abhayachandra Jain, former deputy mayor Purushothama Chithrapura, BJP district president Sudarshan Moodbidri, BJP district secretary Ramdas, corporator Sudhir Shetty, Anil Poojary and Yogish Mulky were present.
