Udupi, Feb 12: The inauguration ceremony of post graduate centre of Netrajyothi Institute, a part of Netrajyothi Charitable Trust and Prasad Netralaya Superspeciality Hospital and the convocation ceremony of Nethrajyothi Institute of Allied Health Sciences and Nethrajyothi College of Paramedical Sciences will be held on Thursday, February 13, at the college campus located in Kinnimulki Vegas Township.
This semi-medical educational institution, which began in 2016, offers BSc courses in optometry, anaesthesia and operation theatre technology, medical laboratory technology, public health, hospital administration, and physiotherapy.

Additionally, it provides diploma courses in ophthalmic technology, anaesthesia and operation theatre technology, medical imaging technology, medical records technology, and health inspector technology. Over the past eight years, the institution has consistently achieved excellent academic results and has secured some of the highest ranks in the state. The graduation ceremony for students who completed their degrees in the last academic year will also be held during the event.
To further enhance higher education opportunities for students, the institution is introducing postgraduate (PG) programmes and establishing a new PG centre. The courses being introduced include master's in public health, master's in hospital administration, MSc MLT (clinical biochemistry), MSc MLT (microbiology and immunology), and MSc MLT (haematology and blood transfusion). All PG courses are recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).
The chief minister of Goa, Dr Pramod Sawant, will be the chief guest, conferring degrees to students and inaugurating the new PG centre. The event will be presided over by Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna. Other distinguished guests include Udupi MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, MAHE pro-chancellor Dr H S Ballal, Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, and Dr U T Iftikhar Ali, senate member of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and chairman of Karnataka Allied and Healthcare Council.
