Bangalore, Apr 19: Archbishop Dr Bernard Moras released a publication named ‘Why Jesus’ which gives clear answers to the many questions raised about conversion at Worker’s centre, Nandidurg Road, here on Saturday April 17.
The book published by Asian Trading Corporation, (ATC) Bangalore, seeks to answer the criticism against Christianity and Jesus Christ through a series of episodes presented in dialogue form.
The author of the book is Rajendra Prabhu, a senior journalist. He worked for Hindustan Times as a special correspondent in New Delhi for 15 years and covered political, economic and other major events including general elections, parliamentary news for several papers.
He is specialized in science and technology and has reported on such elite subjects as nuclear science, space, information technology and telecommunications. He was also bureau chief for several technology magazines. He has traveled widely and has gained lot of experiments.
He is active in journalism trade union field and was the president of National Union of journalists (India). Born as a Hindu, he accepted Jesus after a long and intense internal search and confrontation. His first book on Jesus, ‘Understanding Jesus’, was also published by ATC.
In his book ‘Why Jesus?’ he brings to the notice of the people that there are many who have come across Jesus of Nazareth and have even experienced the power of his presence in their lives.
The book release was preceded by a discussion on ‘The relevance of religion in socio-economic transformation’. Leaders and scholars from various faiths – Hindu, professor N V Narasimhaiah, Islam, Sheema Mohasin, Sikh, Professor H S Bhatia, Jain, Rajesh Bhantia and Christian Dr Siga Arles graced the occasion in addition to sharing and expressing their views.
Dr Joseph Gathia moderated the session. Anil Rego compered the programme and Nigel Fernandes introduced the dignitaries.
