Udupi, Oct 4: Continuing their drive against drug menace in the district, the police on Sunday October 4 arrested a student at Sheemba in Manipal here for attempting to sell the contraband MDMA drugs.
The arrested accused is Himanshu Joshi, an engineering student in a private college here.
He was arrested by the Manipal police while trying to sell MDMA drugs near Sheembra bridge.

Police said that Himanshu had 498 MDMA tablets approximately worth Rs 14.94 lac. The drugs were confiscated by the police.
A two-wheeler and a mobile phone were also seized from him.
The arrest operation was conducted under the guidance of Udupi SP Vishnuvardhan and additional police superintendent Kumarchandra, by P S Madhu, ISD police inspector Jai Shankar, DCP Udupi Manjunath M Gowda, and personnel of Manipal station.
