Bengaluru, Oct 3: The spirits of the ministerial aspirants were dashed after they fondly hoped for the ministry expansion-cum-rejig to happen in two to three days, after they were told that the high command plans to wait till the bypoll for three assembly seats is held on November 3.
Chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa, who had planned to rush to Delhi on Thursday, has postponed his visit. He said he would go to Delhi as soon as he gets a call from the top leadership. He perhaps wants to keep the hopes of the people waiting in the wings alive.
Yediyurappa was questioned by media persons in the Vidhana Soudha premises after he paid floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi there on Friday. "I have sought appointment with home minister Amit Shah, and other leaders to discuss cabinet expansion. As soon as I get information about the timing of the meeting, I will go to Delhi," he stated.
However, some sources insist that the ministry expansion and reorganisation have been postponed for the present in view of the need to take disgruntled legislators into confidence in the light of the fast approaching bypoll. The CM perhaps wants to keep them in good relation.
