Bengaluru, Oct 1: The BJP fact finding committee has said that the riots which caused huge losses at DJ Halli and KG Halli were the result of pre-planned conspiracy by the Congress and SDPI parties.

The BJP had formed a committee led by MLA Aravind Limbavali. It submitted a report of its findings on Wednesday September 30. Speaking after receiving the report, state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel sought to ban SDPI.

Kateel clearly said that the Congress and the SDPI had engineered these disturbances and that the report has confirmed it to be a pre-planned riot.

"The riots were the result of the Congress party's craving for power. The disturbances went on for two to three hours. CCTVs were destroyed and vehicles and houses were torched. Items required for arson and violence had been procured in advance. Therefore, it is clear that this was a pre-conceived plan,” he said.

The committee blamed BBMP corporators Abdul Hafiz Shaffi, Sampathraj, and the husband of Irshad Begum for letting loose this disturbances and violence. The report also says that the disturbances were the result of the Congress failure to settle the issue of leadership.
