Bantwal, Apr 10: “The intellectual theories of multi-faceted personality late B V Karant, have to be explored in order to have a wider perspective”, said Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president, Dakshina Kannada (DK) district Kannada Sahitya Parishat.
Pradeep Kumar Kalkura was speaking after inaugurating the ‘B V Karant Memorial Natakotsav’, a three-day extravaganza of drama, organized under the auspices of B V Karant Ranga Bhoomika Trust, Manchi – Kukkaje, and Babukodi Ranga Pratistan, Bangalore, at Manchi – Kukkaje, near here on Friday April 9.
Meanwhile, Kalkura called on the people to be inspired by ideals laid down by the late Karant through Ranga Bhoomika. He also congratulated the organizers for conducting this significant programme.
“The existing education system does not enhance the intellect of students”, said Kalkura expressing concern over its impracticalities. He urged the people to follow the practicalities of B V Karant’s intellectual theories that are laid down through Ranga Bhoomika, which bolsters self-confidence and instills moral values among the students.
Gangadhar Bhat, president, Sri Satya Sai Lok Seva Education Society, Alike, presided over the programme.
Anantapadmanabha Rao, president of Abhiruchi Joodumarga, B C Road, was the chief guest on the occasion.
Jayaram Patil, managing trustee, Babukodi Ranga Pratistan, Bangalore, and stage artiste K G Krishnamurti were present on the dais.
Kaje Ramachandra Bhat, president, B V Karant Ranga Bhoomika Trust, Manchi – Kukkaje, welcomed the gathering. Secretary G Chandrashekar Rao delivered the introductory address.
Vice-president Ganesh Aithal, treasurer Kalladi Vajraksha Malli, and others were also present.
Joint secretaries M Umanath Rai and S Ramanand Rao compered the programme. Babukody Ummer proposed the vote of thanks.
Makkala Mayaloka, Kannada play by playwright K G Krishnamurti was staged by the students of Alvas Education Foundation, Moodbidri, which was directed by popular director Jeevanram Sullia.
