Udupi, Apr 6: BJP Kaup block, through a separate memorandum submitted on Tuesday April 6 has urged the regional transport authority (RTA) and the district deputy commissioner (DC), to arrange for the halting of the recently introduced KSRTC Volvo buses plying between Mangalore and Manipal, at Kaup near here. Kaup has been a fast developing village, with many temples, educational institutions and fisheries port, besides being a tourism spot, with a light house having been located at the beach here, they cited.
The leaders claimed that Kaup MLA, Lalaji R Mendon, has contacted the state home minister, Dr V S Acharya and transport minister, R Ashok, in this regard, and that both of them have assured to do the needful.
BJP Kaup block president, Kutyar Naveen Shetty, taluk panchayat member, Jagdish Acharya, Arun Shetty, Chandrahas Kotian, local BJP leaders, K Muralidar Pai, Jitendra Shetty, Praveen Kumar Gurme, Prasad Acharya, Badrinath Sanil, Vijay Karkera and others were present on this occasion.
