Mangalore, Apr 4: The 26th Karnataka circle level joint conference of All India Postal Employees Union (AIPEU) will be held in the city from April 4 to 6. This is being held under the aegis of All India Postal Employees Association, Grop C, Group D and Mangalore division of All India Postal Non-departmental Employees Union. This will be the 26th joint conference of this circle, said AIPEU Group C president, S Devapal.
Speaking at a press conference here on Friday April 2, he said that the joint circle level conference is being held here after a gap of 17 years. The conference will be inaugurated at Adhyaksha Koragappa Memorial Hall of Kudroli Lord Gokarnanatha Temple. Odiyoor Sri Gurudevananda Swamiji will inaugurate the conference and deliver benedictory address. A meeting of various committees of the Union will be held at Karnataka Bank Employees Union hall, Bejai in the city on April 5 and 6. Over 1,000 delegates are expected to participate in the conference, he explained.
At the meeting, issues relating to the welfare of the employees of postal services and the survival of the postal services all over the world, will be discussed. The central government will be pressurized to meet several important demands of the postal employees, which are pending with it, he added.
President of the Conference Welfare Committee, Vishwas Kumar Das, general secretary, S Shylesh Kumar, J Daya and Chandrakant were present.
