Beltangady: Bored by urban life, youth finds happiness in nature

Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (SP)

Beltangady, Aug 18: It has been the experience of many living in cities like Bengaluru that because of traffic jams and office work pressure, their minds always search for rest and recuperation. A person from the city, who was under immense pressure when living in the city, has now built a house in the midst of the forest and living here.

Shivakumar (38), a native of Byrasandra in Tumakuru district, with the well-built appearance and a face which appears like he always is thinking about something, had done well in computers. He had worked for big companies like Cisco, HP, I Seva, and American Online companies where he adorned high-level positions. He worked in Bengaluru for two decades and also toured the entire country during that period.

Shivakumar

Getting fed up by the boredom of busy city life, he came to Didupe, a small hamlet in Malavanthige village in Beltangady taluk, after getting attracted by picturesque greenery here. Shivakumar is living by building a house inside a forest at Kadamagundi in Didupe. He lives along with his pet dog. He has grown areca nut and cocoa inside the forest in one and a half acres of land. Shivakumar has a mother, elder sister, and a younger sister. His elder sister is a professor while the younger one manages an educational institute. Shivakumar has decided to live inside the forest all his life.

Shivakumar worships nature and has won the appreciation of villagers within a short time. He conducts agriculture and also a business. In order to help the villagers to escape from the dubious ways of middlemen, he has been teaching them simple techniques. He also conducts information workshops on conducting agriculture and business.

Shivakumar has arranged for tourists to stay in the houses of a few farmers and conducts village tourism for those who want to enjoy nature. Several teams have already come here, stayed at Didupe and returned. Shivakumar lays emphasis on tourism devoid of vices. In his village tourism, plastic and addictions have no place.

Shivakumar stands out as a model even though many have returned to their homes because of lockdown. He is not attracted to city life where he can earn much more, because of his desire to lead a simple life in the midst of nature.

Everyone has one's own plan and one's choice and It's destiny after all. Where it leads one has to go cannot escape from this but At the same time also it is one's decision to settle. But for this one require money so there is no other than to go to city for decent living for him and for his dependants. Sitting in the village cannot earn sufficient unless one has property and land of his own. So ultimately after earning sufficient money and land as did by Shivkumar one can decide where to settle. It's all ones choice as he did after working two decades is not easy. Also his dependants well settled. Sometimes people migrate due to natural calamities and disasters for better place as it happens now during the pendamic.

People born in a remote, but beautiful village, like mine, naturally do not want to go out, but, due to earning a livelihood, we are compelled to migrate to cities. This is our destiny.

We do want to get married and and have a family. For this gentleman, it is okay since he is a bachelor. Though, I have lived in many cities, I like the place where I am now in Kengeri, Bangalore. It is a combination of village and city, which is 2800 feet above Mean sea level with very comfortable weather throughout the year. Coming to life in Mumbai, I think, though houses are very costly, even a poor man also can live since majority of the people are working class and they know the value of money, unlike Kinnigoli, where people are enjoying life by the money coming through overseas drafts.

You are absolutely correct Mr Santan. We human beings had lost the mental balance and many of us also pretended a lot forgetting our very mother-earth.

Many of our people were shy even to mention their native village as though cities were not once forests or villages. Many of us abandoned own old parents, relative, our childhood neighbors imaging short money and glory is forever. Other countries people always take pride in telling the truth of their childhood days be it village or poverty but we pretended a lot. This pandemic has opened our eyes and look back to our roots and reality of life.
    God bless all

    Ondu Jeeva Sadashiva 😜
This is good if you don’t have a family, because education is not accessible to children in forests. children need to b educated.
I’m sure he has saved some savings in two decades. Hence as he is a lover of nature then he can enjoy staying in forest and sacrifice worldly pleasures!!!
Hope you are at peace there !! Peace of mind is very essential nowadays. Hope you help many who need your help there.
Getting a chance to stay and live with nature is a good opportunity though it’s difficult to opt it. Stay happy!!!

Nowadays, nobody need to be lonely, for they are only few feet away from the lap top computer. Hence the world is close by. But,
Soon the nature will be run over by expanding humanity population. That is sad!

This comes in our mind only after enough savings for the rest of our life except some extra ordinary cases. People with tough life cannot move like this leaving their income.

Life is ended in CITY thanks to the CORONA a well lesson taught by the PENDAMIC ! those bigwigs perished like clouds or smoke.. work from home concept introduced which saved the lot of expenses of people also reminded them without them also OFFICE can work or managed. PM saved money from avoiding foreign tours, Big political gathering saved the TAX Payers money.

At last people realized that life starts from VILLAGE not from the ARTIFICIAL PLASTIC life of CITY!!
You can have fresh breath, you can have natural life style without much expenses and lead a very health life.
