Udupi: DC seeks public’s cooperation to trace primary contacts

Udupi, Aug 17: "People who have undergone coronavirus related tests will be receiving calls from a call centre regarding their results. In the event, if the individual tests positive, a designated team will arrive to pick the person in a vehicle. The person will also have an option to either to be in home quarantine or hospital quarantine," Udupi deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha said.

"We have received complaints regarding people behaving indecently with hospital staffs and physicians. This will not be tolerated," the DC said sternly.
 
 
G Jagadeesha also urged that those who tested positive for the virus have to provide reliable contact details so that the tracing of primary will be easier. It was observed that people who test positive for the virus are 50% of primary contacts. 
 
"Coronavirus patients are concealing contact details which are necessary to contain the further spread of infection. We request people to come forward in the event they know anyone displaying coronavirus symptoms. We assure you that they will be taken care of. Following a mandatory medical checkup, they will be released out of the hospital accordingly. However, anyone hiding information in this matter will face severe consequences. The district administration will file criminal case against him," the DC warned.
 
DC Jagadeesha also urged the public to cooperate in this matter so that the virus infection can be contained from further spread.
