Mangaluru, Aug 14: Vice chancellor of Mangalore University, Prof P S Yadapadithaya, addressing a press meet here on Thursday August 13, said that the final semester examinations of the degree and postgraduate degree classes for the academic year 2019-20 will be held between September 16 and 30 as per the directions of the state government and University Grants Commission.
"Colleges have been allowed to hold online/offline classes in their respective colleges between September 1 and 12. At the same time, final semester student of degree courses have the option of appearing for their backlog subjects along with the current semester examinations," he explained.
Students who have so far not remitted their examination fee and not registered for the examination also can appear for the examination. Such students should hand over their requests in this connection to the respective college principals before August 17. They have to pay the examination fee before collecting marks cards after appearing for the examinations. In the case of students who have registered themselves for the final semester/final year and degree courses who have backlog subjects, they will be allowed in future by the university for appearing for special examinations without the need to pay fee," he said.
If there is attendance shortage for the current semester, steps will be taken to consider corona lockdown period as deemed to attend, he stated.
Prof Yadapadithaya also said that for the benefit of students from states like Bhutan, Meghalaya, Manipur and others, there are plans to enter into understanding with the universities of those states and conduct examinations in centres located there.
