New Delhi, Mar 18 (IANS): Delhi Daredevils captain Gautam Gambhir is doubtful for the next match against Chennai Super Kings after he suffered a hamstring injury during the game against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match here Wednesday.
Gambhir limped out of the ground in the first over of the day and then failed to come out to bat as the Daredevils lost to Mumbai Indians by 98 runs at the Ferozeshah Kotla grounds.
Stand-in skipper Dinesh Karthik said: "He is not looking good. But I don't want to speculate anything now. Will update you tomorrow."
Talking about the defeat, Karthik said: "Today we played badly. We bowled poorly and the batting let us down as well."
The stand-in skipper could not help but praise Sachin Tendulkar's fiery 63 of 32 balls.
"It is not easy to set the field when Sachin is batting in that fashion. He was hitting all over the park," he said.
Karthik added that it was not the ideal start for him as captain.
"Mumbai Indians scored too many runs. We could have chased down the target but lost early wickets. Hopefully we will comeback well against Chennai on Friday," he said
