Bengaluru, Aug 5: Digitalization is stressed by the Bengaluru Rural district animal husbandry and veterinary sciences department under the ambitious project of Information Network for Animal Productivity and Health (INAPH) of the union government. The department has successfully carried out putting earring markings to cows.
Bengaluru animal husbandry and veterinary sciences has clinically carried out the process of putting earrings to the cattle under the INAPH programme. More than 1,87,000 cows have been marked with earrings and given an INAPH number.
Like Aadhar cards for human beings, earrings on the cattle carry a 12-digit DICE number. From this unique number, the details of vaccination, pregnancy and delivery and information of other diseases can be made easily available. The veterinary department has readied an App through digitalization and carrying out this work. All information will be available on time to the owners on their mobile, which will help them to upkeep the health of their cattle.
Because of INAPH numbers, the cattle theft can be reduced and also complete information of the cowherd will be available. This system increases the communication between the cowherds and the veterinarians. All information will be available on the fingertips because of this App.
