Kasargod, Aug 5: The mortal remains of POCSO accused, who jumped into the sea on July 22, in the presence of police personnel, who brought him to Kasargod port in order to do conduct inspection, was found in the morning on Wednesday August 5 at the beach near Udupi.
Mahesh (28), a resident of Kudlu in Kasargod, is the accused who had jumped into the sea on July 22. He escaped from the escort police personnel who had brought him to conduct spot inspection near Kasargod port. Though the police personnel tried to rescue him, he got drowned in the sea.
Diving experts and personnel of coastal protection force with locals had searched for Mahesh but the attempts were futile. The decomposed body of the accused was found Wednesday at a beach near Udupi. Kasargod police have rushed to the spot to collect the body as per the information given by Udupi police.
The body was identified as that of the accused by the dress and the handcuffs that were on the hands of the body.
Kasargod city police had arrested Mahesh for allegedly video shooting the scene of a minor girl in a toilet. The accused had allegedly told the police that he had hid the mobile, in which he had captured the objectionable scene of the minor girl, under the rock near Kasargod port. The mobile was found under the rock and later confiscated by the police.
