Mangalore, Mar 13: The first Indo – Sri Lanka Orthopaedic Meet was organized at Colombo on Feb 26, 2010, successfully. This joint meet was organized by Canara Orthopaedic Society and Sri Lanka Orthopaedic Association. Around 100 delegates from India and Sri Lanka participated in this conference.
The said conference was inaugurated by Dr M Shantharam Shetty, vice chancellor of Nitte University, Dr Narendra Pinto, president of Sri Lanka Orthopaedic Association, and Dr Sudhakar Shetty, vice dean, Yenepoya Medical College and president of Canara Orthopaedic Society.
Dr Ajith Kumar, secretary Canara Orthopaedic Association, welcomed the delegates and introduced the faculty.
The faculty included Dr P Sripathi Rao, dean of KMC Manipal, Dr Sharath K Rao, Dr Narendra Pinto, Dr Kiran Acharya, Dr Surendra Kamath, Dr Syed Nizamuddin, Dr Sudarshan Bhandary and Dr Suresh H B, professor and head of radiology department, Fr Muller Medical College.
The ‘Scientific Session’ of the meet, which included talks from the faculty, was greatly appreciated by all the delegates.
Dr B Sachidanand Rai and Dr Narendra Pinto were the conveners of this highly successful meet.
