Bengaluru, Aug 3: Ministerial aspirants are in for another disappointment as the ministry expansion has again been delayed.
There was information that chief minister B S Yediyurappa, would be visiting New Delhi by the end of this week to seek approval from the high command for the ministry expansion along with names of legislators being promoted as ministers. Three vacancies were decided to be filled. There was also rumour about cabinet rejig but not immediately.

But as per information, Yediyurappa has not yet discussed the issue of reorganization of ministry with the central leadership and the high command has not given him any instructions on this front. Some central leaders, the state leaders learnt, felt that tackling coronavirus infection should be the priority now, and not ministry expansion.
Home minister Amit Shah, has now been hospitalised, having been infected with coronavirus. Yediyurappa is also hospitalised for the same. Till the two get healed and discharged, the central leadership and state leadership have to wait. Therefore many expect the ministry expansion to happen only after Ganesh Chaturthi festival. The ministry rejig might happen by December, although several legislators are hell bent on the exercise to take place as soon as possible. They want five to six senior ministers to be dropped and new faces to be inducted in their place.
For any development to take place now, both Shah and Yediyurappa should return to normal health. This would be another agonizing wait for the probables who have been waiting in the wings for too long a period already.
