Sullia, Jul 26: In an incident that occurred on Thursday, July 24, at Anjeri of Nalkoor village, two sons allegedly tried to kill their father by poisoning his food.
Honnappa Naika Anjeri is the person who fell sick after consuming poison-laced food given by his sons Deviprasad and Lokesh. Police have taken both the sons into custody.
Lokesh lives near the house of his father Honnappa. Deviprasad lives in Guthigaaru. On the night of July 23, meat was cooked in the house of Honnappa and he had consumed the food and was sleeping. In the complaint, it is alleged that Deviprasad had mixed poison in the meat and Lokesh also cooperated with him in the act.
Honnappa had meat on the morning of July 24 also, after which, he started vomiting. He was taken to the hospital, where it is said that he is recovering.
A case in this connection is registered against the wife of Honnappa and his two sons in the Subramanya police station and police have arrested the accused.
