Mangalore, Mar 4: ‘Spoorthi- 2010’, a two-day annual seminar was inaugurated at Shree Devi Institute of Social Work here on Thursday March 4.
Inaugurating the seminar, chief guest Rameela Shekar, head, department of medical and psychiatric social work, Roshni Nilaya pointed out various roles that women play in all spheres of life. “It’s time we have to evoke the fact that women are equally competent in handling situation like men. Gender sensitization is the need of the hour” she added.
A Sadnanda Shetty, chairman Shree Devi Education Trust(R) said he agrees with the saying that behind every successful man there is a women as he personally feels women are perfect in their social responsibility and they have the ability to create a corruption free society.
Eunice Rego, principal of the institution welcomed and Sushma Soans, co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks. Namratha and Kavyashree were the masters of ceremony. Supreetha and Asmitha, student co-ordinators were present.
