Bengaluru, Jul 18: Referring to leader of the opposition, Siddaramaiah's repeated demand for accounts of expenses relating to coronavirus management, alleging that there has been a scandal in the procurement of medical supplies, former leader of BBMP ruling party, N R Ramesh, posed a challenge to Siddaramaiah.
"Siddaramaiah is behaving like a feudal landlord. The BJP is ready to provide accounts for the amount spent on handling corona infection. At the same time, the Congress should fix a time and place for open discussion on various scams which happened during the rule of the previous Congress government in the state, he demanded.
"Siddaramaiah is maintaining a discreet silence over allegations of tens of scams faced by his party leaders. When he was the chief minister, proof by way of documents running into 37,000 pages connected with 97 scams had been submitted. He did not initiate action on any of them. He does not have the moral standing to seek accounts from the BJP government now," he asserted.
Ramesh said that during the tenure of Siddaramaiah, several scams had happened one after the other. "Documents relating to scams in which 13 minsters, 21 MLAs,and a Rajya Sabha member of the Congress were involved, had been handed over to the office of the then chief minister and acknowledgemnt has been obtained. Complaints have been made to the anti corrulption Bureau, Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force etc and cases have been filed in several courts. So far, 21 cases have been proved. Government property worth about Rs 6,500 has been taken back. Former ministers, Dr Maadevappa, K J George, H Anjaneya and others should be subjected to narco analysis test so that many more scams will come into the open," he added.
