Bagalkot, Mar 1 (PTI) : Clashes over Holi celebrations in parts of Karnataka claimed a life and left at least eleven people injured.
A 36-year-old man was hacked to death and five persons were injured following a clash between two families of Dalits in Kundargi village in the district, police said.
A fracas over a boy of one of the families playing Holi with the other led to the death of Gadigeppa Yemunappa Talageri, they said adding the two families had previous enmity.
Police, who rushed to the village, detained four persons in connection with the murder.
At Gokak in Belgaum district, five persons were injured when members of two communities clashed after an altercation over celebrating Holi near a place of worship.
Two police personnel were injured in stone throwing by two groups at Savanur in Haveri District over beating of drums during Holi celebrations, police said.
