Udupi: 17-year-old PU student commits suicide

Udupi, Jul 16: A 17 year old girl, student of first PUC has committed suicide. The deceased was Laxmi Muddur, granddaughter of Tulasappa Saligeri, resident of Neelakeri, Badami.

She was staying with her grandfather in a room belonging to Ramesh, Kadekar village, Udupi and was studying in the first PUC in Udupi government P U College. She was at home for the last three months as she was unable to go to the college due to lockdown.

Tulasappa Saligeri was working in the garden of the land owner near their room on July July 15. Meanwhile the girl reportedly ended her life by hanging. The reason for the extreme step is unknown.

A police case in this connection is registered at Malpe police station under registration No. 32/2020 CRPC section 174 on the basis of complaint by Tulasappa Saligeri.
