Bengaluru, Jul 16: Chairman of Kannada Development Authority, T S Nagabharana, has instructed Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) vice chancellor, Dr Karisiddappa, to arrange for teaching revised compulsory Kannada subject. He also warned that failure to abide by the instruction will attract punitive action.

"It is not enough if you have love and respect for the language. You should undertake measures to implement the same. By August the textbooks should have been readied and Kannada teaching should have started from the current academic year itself. Why no action has been taken in this regard?" he wanted to know.
