Chitradurga, Jul 15: "Only God has to save us from coronavirus or else people should be more aware of the pandemic," said health minister Sriramulu.
Speaking to media, Sriramulu said, "The number of coronavirus infected people is increasing day-by-day in the whole world. This pandemic does not spare rich, poor, MLAs, police, doctors and politicians. There are chances of this infection rising to frightening proportions in the next two months. Accusations are being made that the coronavirus pandemic is increasing in Karnataka due to the negligence of the government and ministers and because there is no coordination among the MLAs. These are baseless allegations and far from the truth."
"Who can control corona? In the present state, only God has to save us. Otherwise, awareness about the dreaded pandemic has to come in the minds of people. Congress leaders should give up cheap and low-level politics. If we committed any mistake, we are ready to receive punishment for the same. During this critical time Congress leaders should watch their words," he said.
Sriramulu further said, "There is confusion in the state with regards to the final rites of people who die of coronavirus. In some villages, the cemetery is in the middle of the village. Accusations are being heard that the PPE kits fly with the gust of wind and on nearby houses while the body of the deceased person is being cremated. Discussions are being held to burn the body of the deceased with the help of machines in Bengaluru. Instructions are already given not to hold cremation of deceased in crematoriums which are in the middle of any village. In addition, we will also take a decision to mark two acres of government land for the final rites of the deceased."
