Udupi, Jul 12: The police have arrested another accused in the murder case of Yogish Poojary.
Anup Kunder (38), a resident of Bailakere in the district was taken into custody by the city police for his alleged involvement in the murder.
Yogish Poojary (26), a resident of Laxminagara in Tenkanidiyoor near here was murdered on the night of July 6 by a gang that arrived in a car and attacked him with lethal weapons.
Police have also confiscated the bike that was used during the act.
Anup was reportedly hiding in Bagalkot after the murder. Police received information from sources and brought him back to Udupi after taking him into custody at Bagalkot.
Police sources said that Anup is likely to be produced before the judicial magistrate on Sunday, July 12.
Circle inspector of Udupi police station Manjunath and Malpe station officer Thimmesh and team were involved in the operation of arresting the accused.
Police had earlier arrested four people, including noted rowdy sheeter Sujith Pinto (37) in connection to the murder. The others arrested are Rohit Pinto (43), his elder brother of Sujith Pinto, Annu alias Pradeep (40) and Vinay (36).
Further investigation is on. Police are on the hunt for one more accused identified as Girish Shetty.
