Bangalore, Feb 26: Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Thursday February 26 slammed the opposition parties opposing the land acquisition by the state government saying that ''the development cannot be done in the sky.''
“Both the Congress and JD(S) too had acquired land for development when they were in power. For the infrastructure and industrial development in the state the land has to be acquired,” he justified his stand with reporters when the latter drew his attention on the issue of increasing opposition against government's land acquisition across the state.
The farmers are not against the acquisition of the land, but it is the opposition parties, who are intentionally trying to create problems, he alleged. Further, he also denied the allegations that fertile land is being acquired. However, he assured that he will not allow taking over of the fertile land and take action against such complaints.
He also took a dig at the JD(S) for organizing the Raitha Jagruti Samavesha, recently saying that the credibility of the party is known to one and all.
