Hassles do not seem to end for Kannadigas on Kasargod-Mangaluru border

Kasargod, Jul 7: While people on the state border had a sigh of relief after campaigning with Dakshina Kannada district administration and obtaining Kasargod daily passes, the Kerala government has restricted movement of people on daily passes.

The pass holders are not permitted to return to Kerala for 28 days if they cross the border and go to Karnataka. Kerala state police personnel warned Kasargod residents employed in various places in Dakshina Kannada when they reached Talapady border with passes in the morning on Tuesday July 7. The travellers stood helplessly at Talapady border.

When several people had arrived without knowing the final decision of Kerala state government, a few others had come to inquire about the existing situation.

The Kerala state government has cancelled Kasargod-Dakshina Kannada travel passes since Monday.

    Do note that, Kasaragod reported around 10 cases of covid 19 from the daily pass users including, vegetable vendors, lab test staffs who traveled managlore and few others, this shows there could be community spread in Managlore, and it’s in best interest of both district that this be restricted. The only rule is they can go to work, but come back once a month instead of everyday.

    Karma.. 2 months back mangalore bjp leaders were celebrating high corona cases in kasaragod.. And closing the border as personal victory... Now Mangalore cases are high & kerala has closed the border. This shows arrogance of bjp leaders is burned to dust by the almighty God.

    ChaCha time or Chaiwala time, both are welcome.....

    but Chaiwala won't be able to do that.... because in fifty days he was supposed to get the black money stashed abroad during Congress times (hopefully no one stashed during Atalji's time) and he was also to eliminate black money with demonetisation in fifty days again.... He offered to stand public trial on 51st day, if demonetisation failed, but unfortunately he had some abroad appointments on that day

    I have my own doubts whether the minimum number of days required to be stayed in India for a "Resident Indian" was reduced from 182 to 120 days was probably because Chaiwala would have become the first NRI PM of the country otherwise.
