Udupi, Jul 7: “COVID-19 cases are increasing in the district every day. The matter is serious.
Open celebrations of birthday, Mehendi programme, felicitations etc are taking place. The organizers should realize that such celebrations are not allowed. The celebrations spread the virus. Therefore, mandatory cases will be registered against the organizers and legal action will be taken against them,” warned deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha.
“Concerned tahsildars, taluk panchayat executives, Udupi municipal council commissioner, chief executives, village accountants, panchayat development officers and the respective staff should personally visit the venues of celebrations where prior permission is obtained and ensure that as per government guidelines, social distance is maintained, gloves, mask and sanitizers are used, hygiene is maintained and other SOP regulations are adhered.
It is not suitable to give permissions for celebrations as the number of infected persons is rising and suitable social distance is not maintained and regulations are not followed in toto,” he said.
