Shivamogga, Jul 4: A car that was being driven on the road was suddenly engulfed by flames on Friday July 3. It is said that this happened due to a short circuit.
The car which was charred in the incident belonged to a person identified as Shodhan from Mangaluru. The incident happened near Mandagadde in Thirthahalli taluk.
Shodhan was going to Shivamogga by car. While passing through Mandagadde, he experienced a burning smell, stopped the car and got down. Instantly the car went up in flames. Shodhan had a providential escape by a whisker.
The fire brigade was summoned to the spot. However, before the firemen arrived, the car had completely burnt down. A report on the incident was filed at Malur police station in Thirthahalli taluk.
