Coronavirus patients' funeral video in Ballari goes viral

Ballari, Jun 30: Deputy commissioner S S Nakul has ordered for an investigation in the leadership of additional deputy commissioner P S Manjunath over allegations of conducting last rites of deceased coronavirus patients in an inhuman manner.

Eight people had died due to the virus yesterday. As many people died, the health department had directed to hold last rites at the same place. It was decided to hold them in the outskirts of Ballary. However the dead bodies were dumped in one grave. The video of the last rites had gone viral in social media. The deputy commissioner has ordered for investigations following reports by the media.

Five people have died due to the virus in Ballari on Tuesday. The total number of people who have died of the virus has shot up to 28 now.
