Kasargod, Jun 29: "Strict action will be taken against those who provide accommodation to people arriving from abroad and other states without following coronavirus regulations," warned deputy commissioner Dr D Sajith Babu.
"Those who arrive from abroad and alight at airports and those who reach railway stations from other states are asked to undergo room quarantine or to be under government monitored observation centre," Babu said.
"However, there have been a few who arrived from abroad and were destined to reach Mangaluru via Kannur airport on June 27 but stayed in three lodges in the city without obtaining permission from the district administration. The departments of police, health and revenue were not informed about it. Following this, a case in this connection was registered against the lodge owners," he added.
"Meanwhile propaganda is being spread that the stay was permitted by the tahsildar. It is established that the tahsildar had not given permission,” maintained the deputy commissioner.
“Stern action will be taken if those who arrive from abroad or outside the state are provided accommodation without registering in COVID-19 portal and without obtaining permission from local administration,” clarified the deputy commissioner.
