Kundapur, Jun 29: Lokayukta sleuths paid surprised visits to various government offices here on Monday and inspected precautions taken to curb the spread of coronavirus.

They visited the Tahsildar’s office in Mini Vidhana Soudha, assistant commissioner’s office, the office of the sub-registrar, the office of the municipal council and APMC market. It was observed that there were no thermal scanners in any of the offices and no registry of visitors. The officials also came across several other anomalies during their visit.

Lokayukta officials have asked the concerned to set right the system and warned those who were not wearing face masks. They also came across members of staff in the assistant commissioner’s office who had not signed the attendance register.

"Memos will be issued to the officials and staff who are guilty of dereliction of duty," said Lokayukta DSP Bhasker Reddy.
