Udupi, Jun 29: A hotel at Bannanje here was sealed down on Sunday, June 28 after a cook at one of the hotels tested positive for the COVID test.
The cook had returned to the city from Shivamogga four days back. He had worked in one of the Bannanje hotels for two days. As he suffered from fever, he had got himself tested at the government hospital at Ajjarkad where he found that he was suffering from coronavirus infection.
The officials arrived at the hotel on Sunday afternoon, sealed it down, and declared it as a containment zone. The other 16 workers of the hotel have been instructed to undergo quarantine. Hundreds of customers who had food at this hotel since about a week are now worried about their health condition.
It is learnt that a person staying in a lodge near Shastri Circle Kundapur too has tested positive for coronavirus infection.
