Bantwal, Jun 29: It was an occasion where everyone was emotional. All the members of Amtady gram panchayat (GP) in the taluk joined together, sinking their political affiliations at the end of the panchayat term, where they joyfully recollected the work they did during the period the current team was in office.
A programme was organized under the leadership of outgoing president of Amtady gram panchayat, Harish Shetty Padu, on Saturday. This farewell programme became a model which could be emulated by others because of several unique features.
Amtady gram panchayat was ruled by BJP-supported panchayat members who were in majority. The panchayat also has some Congress-supported members.
