Mangaluru, Jun 26: An FIR has been lodged against 54 persons for violating quarantine in the district. Of the 54 accused of the violation, 10 belong to Puttur taluk and rest are from Mangaluru. The FIR was filed because the concerned were banned from venturing out of their houses and directly defying the quarantine orders.
To make sure the spread of coronavirus infection is contained, the quarantine policy is strictly implemented in the district. Apart from revenue department officials, the district administration has asked other department officials and neighbouring houses to keep an eye on the people who have been placed under quarantine. As per recent reports, Dakshina Kannada district ranks high in terms of enforcing and implementing the quarantine system in the state.
The district deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh has further issued a warning of registering cases against the violators of quarantine.
