Udupi, June 16: “Though the installation of KPCC president will be held in Bengaluru KPCC office, the participation of all the activists is not possible due to Covid 19. Therefore, preparations are in progress for the participation of 8,000 activists in the state’s block and gram panchayat limits using digital technology through the zoom app,” said Udupi district Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor.
He was speaking in the meeting of various unit presidents held in view of D K Shivakumar taking over charge as KPCC president. The meeting was held at Brahmagiri Congress auditorium.
KPCC chief secretary M A Gafoor said that though D K Shivakumar was appointed as state Congress president three months ago, it is not possible to take oath in the presence of all the activists due to Covid-19.
“We see renewed enthusiasm among activists with the arrival of D K Shivakumar. The new president hoping to unite the party as a cader base will be the beginning for the growth of the party,” he said.
Murali Shetty, Dinesh Putran and Harish Kini appointed as in charge of Kadaba, Mangaluru and Belthangady shared the details of programmes held in their blocks.
Party’s Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, Bhasker Rao Kidiyoor, Habib Ali, Udyavar Nagesh Kumar, unit presidents Roshni Olivera, Oliver, Shashidhar Shetty Elloor, Suresh Naik, Gopi K Naik, Ismael Atradi, Yathish Karkera, Harish Shetty Kilinje, Upendra Ganiga, Vignesh Kini, Sanjay Acharya and Balakrishna Nayak were present. District chief secretary B Narasimha Murthy welcomed everyone. Chief secretary Harish Kini rendered vote of thanks.
