Mangalore, Feb 2: 30 people were to appear for examination before the Justice B K Somashekhara Commission of Inquiry here on Monday February 1. The Commission had served notices on 30 persons to appear before it at its sitting here on Monday, but all except one remained absent.
The only witness, who recorded his evidence, was Subhaschandra, an employee of a finance firm from the city. The Commission’s sitting is being held in the Circuit House here.
Justice Somashekhara said that the very fact that 29 persons chose not to attend the sitting of the Commission, is ample proof of the fact that they are neither interested, nor inclined to appear for the hearing. Francis and Madhusudan Adiga appeared for the Christian and Hindu organizations, respectively.
A release said that the Commission will continue to hold its hearing at the Circuit House here till February 5.
