Udupi, Jun 3: An undertrial prisoner lodged in the district prison at Hiriadka here breathed his last early in the morning on Tuesday, June 2.
The deceased, identified as Sayyed Mehboob Pasha (58), was from Tipu Nagar, Shivamogga. He was suffering from ill-health for some time.
Mehboob was an undertrial prisoner since June last year. He was suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure. He was treated at the Ajjarkad district hospital a number of times for these complications. At around 12.35 am on Tuesday, he turned seriously ill. He was taken to the district hospital. The doctors who checked him informed that he was no more, said superintendent of the district prison Srinivas.
