Bangalore, Jan 29: Fr C Francis, vicar general and finance Administrator, archdiocese of Bangalore had a dual celebration in silver jubilee of his ordination and golden birthday at St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral, Bangalore on
Concelebrated Holy Mass was presided over by Dr Bernard Moras, archbishop of Bangalore along with Dr M Joji, archbishop of Hyderabad, Dr T Anthony Swamy, Bishop of Chickmagalur and Dr F Anthony Swamy, Bishop of Kumbakonam. Over 200 priests participated in the celebration. The faithful gathered in very large numbers to be the part of the celebration.
On the occasion, music CD ‘Deekshe’ & a book, ‘Chilume’ were released. The programme concluded with felicitation and honour followed by fellowship lunch.
C Francis was born in Anekal here to Mr Chinnappa and Philomena. Having had his early education in the city he completed his graduation in Mysore. He returned to Bangalore to finish his MA and pursued BEd and LLB. He started his service to the Lord as a secretary and chancellor, Archbishop’s house, Bangalore.
He also served as parish priest in few Parishessuch as St Jude’s Church, Karahally, Sacred Hearts Church, Shiluvepura, St Joseph’s Church, Briand Square and St Lourdes Church, Halasuru among others from 1987 to 2005. Most of his work was in social service. From 2006 – 2009, he was the finance administrator, Archdiocese of Bangalore and Archbishop’s house. Presently he is vicar general and finance administrator, archdiocese of Bangalore (head of the department of finance, legal and estate department).
He has also served under the guidance of Dr P Arockiaswamy, Dr Alphonsus Mathais and Dr Ignatious Paul Pinto to whom he is grateful.
