Mangaluru, May 30: “A group of young men residing in Goodinabali jumping into Netravati river to rescue a stranger are an example of love and fraternity,” stated KCF Qatar in a press release.

“While there are reports of unrest and lack of humanity due to barriers and cracks between religions and castes, the young men tried to give new life to the man who tried to give up his life.

“Mohammed, Sameer, Zaid, Arif, Mukhtar and Tausif who saw Kalladka Hanuman Nagar resident Nishanth jumping into Netravati river in the afternoon of May 24, jumped into the river ignoring the safety of their lives. They brought Nishanth to the river banks, provided first aid and tried to save his life.

“The video of Arif trying mouth to mouth artificial respiration for Nishanth has gone viral. However, the life of Nishanth could not be saved even though he was rushed to the hospital. Arif was employed in Qatar for several years.”

“Karnataka Cultural Foundation Qatar congratulates the youngsters who showed the true meaning of love and brotherhood to the society while Dakshina Kannada district is devastated by communal addiction. Conveying the basic principles of Islam which are peace, harmony and sacrifice through the incident that occurred during the festival of Eid Ul Fitr has made the land proud,” stated KCF Qatar representatives in the press release.
