Bengaluru, May 27: The state government has exempted travellers arriving the state from institutional quarantine with latest lab reports stating them to be COVID-19 negative. However, the reports must be obtained only from ICMR approved labs and should not be more than two days older. If the criterion are fulfilled, the visitors could directly go to their homes but remain under home quarantine for two weeks.
The decision was taken to ease the hassles at transit points where the travellers have to wait at facilities such as railway stations, airports, bus stops, and interstate check points to get their swab samples collected at their institutional stay.
The relaxation would benefit visitors from high risk states such as Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
The state government has further made complete exemptions for both union and state ministers, officers on duty and airline crew members from quarantine.
A notice issued earlier by the state government stated that the visitors arriving from the six high risk states would have to compulsorily undergo first week of institutional quarantine and the second week of home quarantine.
