Mangaluru, May 15: "The task of sending migrant workers to their home states from Dakshina Kannada district is being attended in an efficient manner. But some Congress leaders have been misleading these workers and making them come to streets," observed Dakshina Kannada district BJP president Sudarshan Moodbidri.
He was addressing a press meet here on Thursday, May 14.
"The telephone call made by an educated woman demanding money from migrant workers has become viral in social media. The district administration should seriously investigate as to who empowered her to attend to these things," he demanded.
He dismissed statement made by Congress district president, Harish Kumar, that coronavirus infection proliferated in India on account of 'Namaste Trump' programme held at Ahmedabad in February. "When Trump came here, only one coronavirus case was reported from the USA and there was no case in India. Therefore, his claim is ridiculous," he felt.
Sudarshan said that the Rs 20 lac crore rupees infused into the economic system by the government, backed the concept of self-reliant India. He said that this package will work to provide further impetus to domestic industries and all walks of people.
He pointed out that advanced countries also have been reeling under the coronavirus influence now but India is growing in stature as a possible world level leader. Because of positive measures undertaken by Prime Minister Modi, coronavirus is in control, and India has emerged as a world leader in that aspect," he stated.
Zilla panchayat vice president Kasturi Panja, district BJP general secretary Sudhir Shetty Kannur, Ramdas Bantwal party spokespersons, Jagadish Shenava and Ravishankar Mijar, were present.
