Kundapur, May 13: “Drinking water scarcity has become acute in Byndoor but neither the taluk panchayat nor the district administration have taken action,” complained Byndoor block Congress president, Gauri Devadiga. In three of the complaints personally handed over by her to the deputy commissioner, she requested the district administration to take measures to provide drinking water.
“Water scarcity is found in several villages in Byndoor. The problem is felt from March every year and the district administration supplies water through water tankers. Though water is scarcer this year, the administration has failed to supply water even though half of the May month has passed by,” she alleged.
“People are afraid to go out due to coronavirus. The district administration should intervene in such complex situations and start providing water through water tankers or other means,” she stated in her appeal handed over to the DC through Byndoor tahsildar on Wednesday.
