Udupi: Meet held to discuss quarantine with travellers from other states

Udupi, May 9: A meeting was chaired by MLA K Raghupathi Bhat at Chantaru gram panchayat auditorium for travellers who arrived from other states regarding institutional quarantine and hotel quarantine in the district.

It was decided to taluk wise segregate the district border people who arrived from other states through passes after submitting the online application in ‘Seva Sindhu’ and keep them in institutional quarantine and hotel quarantine.

The taluk administration, in the beginning, will arrange hostel, residential schools, auditorium and inns with basic facilities in coordination with other departments for institutional quarantine. Those who arrived from other states later will be accommodated in institutional quarantine with necessities provided by the taluk administration.

A discussion was held with the hotel owners at Brahmavar taluk about hotel quarantine on special daily package rates including food and accommodation. The rates were made known later.

Seriously ill travellers among those who arrive from outside the state will be provided medical treatment at the hospital during quarantine duration.

Taluk panchayat executive Mohanraj, Brahmavar tahsildar Kiran Gorayya, district panchayat education and health standing committee president Pratap Hegde Marali, Brahmvar police sub-inspector Raghavendra, taluk medical officer Nagarathna, Brahmavar taluk level panchayat development officers and village accountant were present.

    These local politicians are messing up the system , bringing there own rules favouring them
    Yday there was instance people travelled from other places were asked to quarnitune at hejmadii at hotel and with no facility, even they were few kms inside district. One of the passenger was pregnent lady.
