Bengaluru, April 30 (IANS): Thirty new Covid positive cases surfaced in Karnataka, raising the state's tally to 565, an official said on Thursday.
"Cumulatively 565 corona positive cases have been confirmed in the state, this includes 22 deaths and 229 discharges," said a health official.
Thirteen Covid patients have been discharged, taking the total to 229.
Among the new cases, 14 are men and 16 are women, and include six children below 16.
Of the 30 new cases, 27 are contacts of earlier cases while two more are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and another woman with Influenza Like Illness (ILI).
Belagavi contributed 14 cases, followed by Bengaluru with 10, Vijayapura, two, Dakshina Kannada, Tumakuru, Kalaburagi and Davanagere, with one each.
Dakshina Kannada district has seen 16 Covid positive cases hitherto, currently with eight active cases and three deaths, the highest number of deaths after Bengaluru Urban.
